ABSTRACT.
In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of a fixed point for the novel contraction, introduced by Proinov, in the setting of the complete quasi-b-metric space. The observed results are not only extend and improve but also unify the existing results on the topic in the corresponding literature. An illustrative example is considered to indicate the validity of the obtained results.
