ABSTRACT.
The renewable energy based smart micro-grid is proposed in this paper that provides a better scattered energy solution for both urban and rural areas. To perform efficient supply of power and to achieve the required demand, smart grid plays a prominent role in effective utilization of solar power and wind turbine. The distributed generation unit is integrated with the grid via three phase inverters. The power which is retrieved from PV and wind turbine is accumulated in the battery so that the power can be fetched during the non-availability of sources. To enable the stable flow of power and to perform power conversion and storage system, power electronic converters and controllers were used for efficient operation. To produce PWM pulses for the converter, PI controller is utilized. Artificial Bee Colony optimized PI controller enhances the transient response while manipulating LUO converter.  The retrieved power is fed to the grid via three phase inverter which is controlled by DQ theory. Modeling of entire system is done by using MATLAB and to scrutinize the experimental results, prototype is implemented.
